Water Conservation Bumper Sticker

Design an informative bumper sticker that illustrates the importance of water conservation.

Include:

•1-3 visual images
• at least 3 colors
•funny or insightful comment
•correct details
•on the back, a clear brief explanation that makes the point of the bumper sticker.

  • Warm Up: On a field trip, you find rock that has long parallel grooves. Form a hypothesis that explains this feature. What other land forms would you try to find to test/support this hypothesis?
  • Pair and share homework- Analyze your partners work. On the back of their paper write one thing they did well & one thing that they could improve.
  • Jigsaw-partner A reads 377 & Partner B Reads p378. Then partner s take turns teaching each other what they learned starting with partner A.
  • Design a water conservation bumper sticker that includes: 1-3 visual images related to water conservation, color, funny or insightful comment, correct details, a clear brief explanation that make the point of the bumper sticker.

Wednesday May 1, 2013-Honors

  • Warm Up:
    • When liquid water is heated it changes to water vapor. As it cools it condenses and changes back into a liquid. Describe what it would be like if people vaporized and condensed according to changes in temperature.
  • Quiz- Glacial Erosion and Deposition
  • Reading and note taking-Ice Ages p 431-434
  • Homework create a quiz (10 questions) -matching, fill in the blank and multiple choice or create a comic strip with at least 10 boxes with dialog that explains the main concepts *must use humor (use the reading focus as a guide) (25 pts.)

 

Wednesday 2nd and 3rd

  • Warm Up: Explain how changes in the size of a glacier may indicate climate change.
  • Read and take notes 423-430- Glacial Erosion and Deposition
  • T.O.D.-Name three examples of landforms created by glaciers. And, list the two processes that create the landforms.
